December 2015 Wrap-up

Here's an overview of some of our random moments from December:
A random breakfast at McDonald's before school.

Celebrating Dad's birthday at Castleton Grill.  Reid gave him his present from Elf Shelf a little early.

I took my sweet niece, Clare, out for lunch one day during school.  It's just one of the perks of teaching in the same school!
 Ryan started playing CYO basketball.
We went out to celebrate Kelly's 40th birthday.  It was a fun night of dinner followed by bowling.
Doesn't Holly look super cute preggo?
I received the cutest letter from one of my students.  This is definitely one I'm going to have to save forever!

I had the best helper at Kroger one night.  :)

 No cavities!
We watched Kate one day, and she loved playing with the nativity set.
 She especially loved Baby Jesus!
Kelly, Holly, and the girls came over to bake and decorate cookies.

 Reid and his buddy, Ryan.

Can you find Johnny the Elf?  The kids loved finding his different spots each day!
Joel and I swore we would not do any projects over Christmas break again.  But then we found ourselves painting our guest bathroom less than 36 hours before hosting guests.

We enjoyed watching Joel's cousin's son, Kevin, in a high school tournament at North Central.
Doug and Marsha and the Saleiks came down for the tournament as well, and that night we played cards and tried out my new selfie stick.

One of the things we like to do on Christmas break is go to the Indy Auto Show.  To make it more fun for the kids, we came up with a scavenger hunt.  We gave the kids one of our cell phones and had them go around taking pictures.  Some of the things included:
 Sleeping in a car.
 Posing with a gerbil
Getting a picture with a salesman.  The kids said this guy was a great sport!  We are definitely going to do this again next year!

New Year's Eve 2015

Kelly and Keith invited us over for New Year's Eve. This was the latest we let the kids stay up.  We didn't head home until about 11:30 p.m.  Something tells me each year it will get later and later.  (Yikes!)  Of course we had to do the traditional confetti toss with the kids:

Reid fell asleep as we were pulling out of their neighborhood.  But we let the other kids stay up to see the countdown.

Happy 2016!!  I can't wait to see what this new year brings!

Christmas Day 2015

After opening presents, we headed north to Grandma Marsh and Grandpa Doug's house.  We always try to get pictures right away--before anyone gets messy or changes into their comfy clothes.

Ryan and Quinn provided the Christmas music for us.
Then Reid lit the birthday candle so we could sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus.
Then it was time to open presents!

We had a very Merry Christmas!
