May Madness

May was a crazy month to say the least.  With the kids being in sports, three of us wrapping up school, Holly and Brian getting married, buying a house, selling a house, and moving, I joked that within the next few weeks I'd be in a new home--though it may have padded walls and visiting hours.  :)

Needless to say, the ol' blog has been a little neglected.  So I'm going to do a quick post covering a few things we did in May.
 Field Day
 Ryan playing baseball

Reid preferred to cheer his brother and sister on in their respective sports by playing on the playground.
Reese took a ballet class with Grace and Clare. This was a gift from the Weseli family for her birthday.

 Last Day of School!

All of the teachers waving good-bye to all of the kids.  Hello, summer!

HHI 2013: Wrapping it Up!

For our family, it's the little things on vacation that count, such as...
 ...hanging out with our cousins...

...enjoying a drink with chips and salsa while playing trivia at Aunt Chiladas...
 ...time away together...
 ...bike rides...

 ...happy hour!...
...an empty stage and a willing performer...

And vacations are all about the big things, too:
 Family

Thanks, Mom and Dad, for a wonderful week and a whole lot of fun memories! We love you!

HHI 2013: Anchors Aweigh!

Another favorite tradition on our vacation is renting a boat to go explore the open seas--or at least the bay.  :)  The size of the boat has increased over the years with the added shipmates, so I'm hanging onto the hope that we'll someday get a big yacht.  :)

All of the kids look forward to their turn as First Mate with Captain Grandpa Stan.

Toward the end of our boat ride, we dropped anchor and almost everyone jumped in to cool off.

It was a great day for boating!

HHI 2013: Shelter Cove

One of our favorite traditions is heading to Shelter Cove on Tuesday night to see Shannon Tanner.  Shannon Tanner is like James Taylor, Jimmy Buffet, and Raffi (a children's singer) rolled into one performer.  He entertains everyone--young and old!  This year both of my parents joined us as well!
My parents with almost all of the grandkids...Ryan was with Joel at the time parking the car.

I love this picture of Reese and Reid when they first spotted the fireworks.

We stopped by McDonald's to get ice cream on the way home.  Sure, there are lots of ice cream places on the island, but you can't beat a cone for a $1!!!

Kelly and Keith's kids were already in bed, hence the happy faces.  We, on the other hand, had just sugared our kids up.  Lesson learned for next year!!!
